For this rotation, I met with my site evaluator PA Sadat as well as my classmates who were also on their family medicine rotation. PA Sadat gave each of us feedback that we could all learn from.
For my first site visit, I presented a 54-year-old female patient who presented for a yearly physical she was also concerned about her worsening varicose veins. Her cholesterol levels were also addressed at the visit and she received patient education regarding diet as well as appropriate prescriptions. I also submitted 5 drug cards including Rosuvastatin, lisinopril, metformin, Eliquis, and cyanocobalamin injection.
For my second site visit, I submitted 2 H and Ps, and a journal article. My H and P was about a 43 year old male presenting with a chronic cough with onset coinciding with the start of his lisinopril prescription. My article discussed the rates and frequencies of ACEI induced coughs. I also submitted 5 more drug cards including mirabegron, metoprolol, Levemir, finerenone, and gemfibrozil.
In conclusion, my site visits with PA Sadat were great learning experiences. He gave useful feedback on my H and Ps and care plans that I can refer back to.
